Football is my favorite sport and I love curling up on the couch with a snack or two and a big glass of sweet tea. The Super Bowl game is the biggest one of the year and you can bet I will have snacks ready so I do not miss a minute. I especially enjoy watching the commercials, not to mention the half-time show.
Game Day Gorp is the perfect snack and it is good for you to boot!! You can crunch away and not feel the slightest bit guilty.
- 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
- 2 cups mixed nuts
- 1 cup dried cherries
- 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
- 1 cup dried blueberries
- ½ cup toasted pepitas
- ½ cup dried plums
- ½ cup dried apple slices
- 1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; store in an airtight container.
A pepita is Spanish culinary term for pumpkin seed.
Gorp is a snack mixture used especially by hikers and campers, often made of nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and chocolate chips.
