Hootie…and the Blowfish?

Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  Hootie…and the Blowfish, maybe?  Well…it is supposed to be an owl!  Or maybe a bug-eyed bird with ear muffs…too hot for that! No really, it is an owl.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

This is my first attempt at carving an owl out of fruit, but it was actually easier than I thought.  Honestly, I can’t even take credit for the idea…my friend e-mailed me a picture off of Pinterest, so I worked all day and raced home to create “Hootie” for her to take to her grandbaby’s first birthday party, tomorrow.  I worried all the way home that I would mess up and have to drive to the nearest town to buy more fruit…not to mention being up half the night carving a second version.  I hope she likes him!

Who would have thought that a fruit tray could be assembled to look like an owl?  Someone out in Pinterest land is very talented to come up with such an idea.  I wish I the talent to come up with the wonderful crafty things that appear on Pinterest.com.

If I still have any readers out there, I need a little encouragement to get the blogging fire burning under me, again.  My website needs me and maybe I need my website and just don’t realize it!

So throw me a bone and leave me a comment!
