Today is Halloween 2017! Same as years past, I purchased tons of candy to hand out to the little Trick or Treaters. I live in a rural area and seldom ever have any little ones knocking at my door. So I did the same as every year…over load on sugar with tons of leftover candy! 🙂
When I was a child, the Halloween costumes were modeled after spooky characters, such as ghosts, goblins, vampires, monsters, and skeletons. Now the costumes are fashioned after super heroes, princesses, or someone famous…the scariness of Halloween has mostly been replaced with the popular icons!
Take a gander at some of my latest purchases at the Nashville, Tennessee Flea Market. Can you tell I like the freaky stuff? You might remember last year’s decorations, but if you missed it click here.
This past weekend was a very busy (but happy) one because of the road trip I took with my best friend, Kathryn to the Nashville Flea Market. I have gone to this flea market almost every year for the last 35 and I enjoy it each time like it is my first time. If you are a flea marketer and live within a reasonable driving distance from Nashville, you need to plan a road trip of your own in October next year.
However, the older I get the more difficult it is to walk over the entire fairgrounds, but I have a large time nonetheless and always come home with items I really did not need. When I was asked if I wanted to go, I went with the intent of buying no more Halloween decor, but guess what? 🙂
If you are a flea market shopper, let me know in a comment what fabulously odd items you have found.
I did have three visitors tonight, but I have to say, the highlight of my Halloween 2017 was this little gal! She is such a little cutie!
She looks pretty disgusted at this point!
I hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween, everyone!
