Happy New Year everyone! Did you “party like it was 1999” or did you spend a quiet evening at home ringing in the New Year? Contrary to what the picture might suggest, the Hubby and I spent a very quiet evening at home and slept the New Year in! We are not “party animals” and preferred to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and the New Year in the comforts of our home.
I did, however put together a Make Believe Champagne to toast the occasion. And I might add a very tasty beverage it is!
Today is the 139th Kentucky Derby and as a Kentuckian, I celebrate the day with some tribute in keeping with the tradition of the race.
In early preparation for the long hot summer ahead, I tried this recipe for “Splash Dance” Apricot Cooler. It has a slightly sweet, yet tart taste and is worthy of trying again in June, July, and August, when it is miserably hot and when we start our summer project.
I am always trying the latest and greatest flavored creamer for Coffee. I can drink coffee black, but I prefer to mellow the acid in it by adding a creamer of some sort and I have grown to love all the flavored creamers the market has out there (and there a lot of them). Some of the flavors leave me wishing I had chosen something else, but a few have become my favorites.
